Warrant Executed on District Constable Jevaun Clayton for Breaching the Larceny Act

District Constable Jevaun Clayton of Area One Police Garage (St. James), was arrested and formally charged for Larceny as a Servant and Forgery after a warrant was executed on him on April 5, 2019 by detectives of MOCA West.

Reports are that in August 2017 a service vehicle was taken to the Area One Garage for repairs to be done.  The Jamaica Constabulary Force Advance Debit Card (gas card) and the service vehicle were checked and logged in the relevant registers and then received by District Constable Clayton.  In October of the said year the repairs were completed and the unit was ready to be handed over however, during this process it was realized that the gas card was being used whilst the unit was still at the garage.

Based on the information that was unearth, detectives from MOCA commenced their investigation and a file was subsequently submitted to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) who ruled in March 2019 that District Constable Jevaun Clayton be charged for Breaches of the Larceny and Forgery Acts.

Consequently he was charged and placed before the St. James Parish Court where he was offered bail in the sum of Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000.00) to return to court on Thursday June 6, 2019.
