UPDATE: Seven charged with lottery scamming

ST JAMES, Jamaica — The Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA) is reporting that seven people who were two weeks ago arrested during an operation in sections of St James and Westmoreland, have been charged with lottery scamming.

Reports are that on October 7 a team of MOCA officials along with other members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, Jamaica Defence Force and the Financial Investigation Division carried out several raids to target individuals allegedly involved in the illicit lottery scam.

MOCA stated that several premises in Farm Hill and Farm Heights in St James as well as premises in Bethel Town, Logwood and Coral Springs in Westmoreland were searched, resulting in a number of items used in lottery scamming being seized.
