St. Andrew Central District Constable Offered Bail

District Constable Paul McKenzie was offered bail in the sum of Three Hundred Thousand Dollars when he appeared in the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court on Thursday August 16, 2018.

On Wednesday August 8, 2018, detectives from MOCA visited the Half –Way-Tree Police Station regarding an allegation of corruption involving McKenzie and another member of the Jamaica Constabulary Force. During a search of both members, an extension magazine containing twenty-seven (27) 9mm cartridges and one empty magazine were found on McKenzie’s person. When questioned, it was revealed that the items were not JCF issued and he was not the holder of a Firearm License.

He was subsequently taken into custody and charged by the detectives on Monday August 13, 2018 for Illegal Possession of Ammunition. He will return to court Thursday October 11, 2018.
