Seven Arrested in Western Jamaica During Anti- Lottery Scam Raid

Seven persons were this morning arrested by detectives from MOCA during an operation in sections of St. James and Westmoreland.

This morning’s simultaneous operation conducted by detectives from MOCA, with the assistance of the JCF Mobile Reserve, Jamaica Defence Force and officers from the Financial Investigations Division was targeted at persons who are involved in the illicit lottery scam. During the operation, several premises in Farm Hill and Farm Heights St. James as well as premises in Bethel Town, Logwood and Coral Springs in Westmoreland were searched resulting in a number of items used in lottery scamming being seized.

The persons are expected to be interviewed in the presence of their attorney following which charges will be laid.

Investigations continue.
