MOCA Search and Seizure Operation in Corporate Area
Operatives from the Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA) conducted search and seizure operation in sections of Kingston and St. Andrew on Wednesday August 14, 2019. These operations are surrounding an investigation that has so far revealed several persons involvement in fraudulent activities.
During a search of one of the premises, fifty (50) 9mm cartridges were found along with several counterfeit notes. Ramon Seeriram, Graphics Designer of a Kingston 5 address was subsequently arrested and charged for breaches of the Forgery Act and the Firearm Act.
He appeared before the Kingston St. Andrew Parish Court on Wednesday August 21, 2019 in respect to breaches of the Forgery Act, where he was offered bail in the sum of Three Hundred Thousand Dollars ($300,000.00). Seeriram also appeared before the Gun Court in Kingston on August 28, 2019, regarding breaches of the Firearm Act, where he was offered bail in the sum of Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00).
The investigators have also uplifted several documents and electronic devices which are believed to be of significant evidential value as the investigation continues.
