MOCA charges five ‘hackers’

ST ANDREW, Jamaica — Five people were last week charged with breaches of the Law Reform (Fraudulent Transaction) (Special Provisions) and the Larceny Acts by detectives from Major Organised and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA).

Charged with possession of identity information, distributing identity information, using an access device to transport money and conspiracy to defraud are:

Douglas Walker otherwise called “Bobby” of a Kingston 19 address, Nasha Rolle, of a Kingston 19 address, Ortolan Powell of a Kingston 11 address,Travis Wilson otherwise called “Happy Feet”, and Romaine Barrett otherwise called “Swift Pain” of a Mona address.

According to police reports all five individuals were arrested last Monday during MOCA operations in sections of Kingston and St Andrew.

The operations targeted individuals who it is alleged have robbed people of millions of dollars, via identity theft and other cyber related means.

They will all appear in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Thursday to answer to the charges.

MOCA added that two other people will be interviewed in the presence of their attorneys later today.
