Constable Charged for Obtaining Money by False Pretence

Constable Oneil Hart of the Manchester Division was on Monday April 8, 2019 arrested and charged for Obtaining Money by False Pretence by detectives from MOCA following a ruling from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).

Reports are that on September 5, 2018 the complainant’s brother and another man was placed incustody after being charged for Illegal Possession of Firearm. A day later Constable Hart approached the complainant and told her that he could assist in getting certain necessities to her brother in custody.  The complainant stated that she agreed and gave Constable Hart a total of Forty Thousand Dollars ($40,000.00) during September 6- 11, 2019 however; her brother and the other man did not receive these items as agreed.

A file was prepared and submitted to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) who ruled that Constable Oneil Hart be charged for Breaches of the Larceny.  He was offered bail on condition when he appeared before the Manchester Parish Court to return on Friday, May 10, 2019.
