Constable Charged for Attempting to Pervert the Course of Justice
Constable Kamar Davis of the Manchester Division was on Friday June 8, 2018 arrested and charged for Attempting to Pervert the Course of Justice by detectives from MOCA.
Reports are that in May 2018, two persons from the same address, went to the Christiana Police Station, Manchester and made separate report about the theft of a motor car and a motor bike respectively that was parked on premises where they lived.
Investigation further revealed that the owner of the motor bike subsequently recovered his property days after making the report however, he accused the other person who lived on the premises of being the one who took his bike and demanded Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) as compensation for the alleged damage that was done to the bike.
Constable Davis was later approached by the owner of the bike, who requested of him to make contact with the other man on his behalf. Davis contacted the alleged accuse and arrangement made for partial payment. However, the alleged accuse reported the matter to Mandeville Police and Constable Davis arrested during a sting operation. He was later charged after an interview was conducted in the presence of his lawyer and offered bail in the sum of One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00) to return to the Manchester Parish Court on Wednesday July 11, 2018.
