St. James Woman Convicted for Lottery Scamming

St. James resident, Kishan Atherton pled guilty to breaches of the Law Reform (Fraudulent Transactions) (Special Provisions) Act 2013 when she appeared in the St. James Parish Court on November 24, 2020.

Atherton was arrested and charged on January 20, 2016 by MOCA detectives, following an operation at her residence in Belmont District, St. James where a black Lenovo laptop was found and seized. Upon examination of the device, identity information of persons living overseas, among other data relating to lottery scamming was found.

She is set to be sentenced on Tuesday December 15, 2020 when she is scheduled to reappear before the St. James Circuit Court.
